Grenfell Tower was completed in 1974 on the Lancaster West Estate in North Kensington, London. The 24-storey block provided around 120 homes. Its architecture belongs to the post-war social housing tradition: a reinforced concrete frame with ribbed piers, dark spandrel bands, and white infill panels.
Between 2012 and 2016 the tower underwent a major refurbishment, including external rainscreen cladding that changed how the building looked and how its outer walls performed.
This site offers an educational 3D reconstruction of the tower as built in 1974. The geometry is approximate, derived from published dimensions and archival photography — it is not survey-grade.
